Warranty & Care
Three years on every piece, written down, with the exceptions stated plainly rather than in small print. Below that: how to look after each material, so you rarely need the warranty at all.
The warranty
Every Fanosia piece carries a three-year warranty from delivery. Not three years on the expensive ones. Every piece, from the smallest wall light to the largest chandelier.
What's covered
- The structure: the frame, arms, joints, rods, chains and fixing points. A joint that fails, an arm that loosens, a fixing that gives way.
- The finish: plating or lacquer that lifts, flakes or peels in normal indoor use.
- The electrics we supply: sockets, internal wiring, switches, cables and integrated LED units.
- Our installation: if Fanosia Install fitted your piece, their work is covered too.
A covered fault is repaired by our installer. If it cannot be repaired, we replace the piece. If we need it back, we collect it: you do not arrange or pay for any transport. And if a fault shows up in the first 30 days, you choose: a replacement or a refund.
What isn't covered
- Bulbs. They are consumables, whether they came with the piece or as an add-on.
- Damage caused by installation done by someone else. You are welcome to use your own electrician, and the piece keeps its warranty on structure, finish and electrics. What we cannot cover is damage caused during that installation.
- Misuse and accidents: knocks, drops, or cleaning with the wrong product. The most common one is brass polish on an oxidised or antique finish; see the care section below.
- Outdoor use of an indoor piece.
Damaged on the way to you? Report it within 48 hours of delivery with a photo and we send a replacement first, or refund you if you prefer. Damage or a defect you find later, within the first 30 days, is still replaced or refunded, whichever you choose. After that, the three-year warranty above applies. See delivery and returns.
How to claim
- Message us on WhatsApp with your order number and a photo or short video of the fault.
- We reply within 2 working hours (Saturday to Thursday, 11:00–21:00) and tell you the next step.
- We repair or replace it at no cost to you, including any collection and return.

Care by material
Almost all lighting care comes down to one sentence: switch off, let it cool, and use a dry, soft cloth more often than you think. Everything below is the exception to that.
Brass and aged finishes: oxidised, antique and bronze
Never use brass polish, metal cleaner or anything acidic on brass or on any aged finish. Polish is made to strip colour and tarnish back to bright metal. On an oxidised, antique or bronze finish, that colour is the finish, so polish removes it, permanently.
Use a dry, soft cloth. For pierced or deeply worked areas, such as a lantern's cut metal, use a soft dry brush: a clean paintbrush is ideal.
What to expect over time: on brass pieces with an oxidised or antique finish, the colour can slowly deepen over the years. That is how brass ages, and it is expected. Each product page says what the piece is made of.
Plated and lacquered finishes: gold, champagne, chrome
Use a dry, soft cloth. Keep alcohol- and ammonia-based cleaners away, including window sprays and general-purpose cleaners. They attack the clear lacquer or the thin plated layer rather than the metal underneath, and once that layer is damaged the finish dulls or tarnishes from that point outward. No polish, and nothing abrasive.
Steel and painted metal
Stainless steel is the most forgiving material we use. A dry cloth is normally enough; a barely damp cloth is fine for kitchen grease, dried straight away. Painted and powder-coated metal also wants a dry cloth only. Avoid scrubbing around fixing points and screw heads, where a coating is thinnest and wear starts.
Glass and crystal
- Glass shades: a barely damp cloth, dried straight away. Never clean glass while the bulb is on or still warm: the sudden temperature change can crack it.
- Crystal drops: wipe each one with a dry, lint-free cloth, or wear cotton gloves so you leave no fingerprints. For heavier dust, unhook the drops, wash them in lukewarm water with a drop of mild washing-up liquid, rinse, and let them dry completely before you hang them back.
- Never spray anything directly onto the fixture. Spray the cloth instead, and keep moisture away from metal collars, sockets and wiring.
Wood
A dry cloth only. No damp cloth, no sprays, no polish. Moisture is what lifts a wood finish, and Egyptian humidity does enough of that on its own.
Fabric shades
A soft brush, or a vacuum's upholstery attachment on its lowest setting, working downwards. Never wet a fabric shade: water leaves marks and can loosen the glue that holds it to its frame. Keep bulbs within the stated wattage, because heat discolours fabric over time.
Bulbs, safely
- Included or add-on: the product page says which, right next to the price. Where bulbs are an add-on, the pack that fits is offered on the same page.
- Switch off at the wall and let the fixture cool before changing a bulb. Metal fixtures hold heat for longer than you expect.
- Do not exceed the fixture's maximum wattage. Where that figure is confirmed, it is on the product page; if it is not shown yet, ask us before fitting a high-wattage bulb.
- Integrated LED units have the light source built in. It is not a bulb you replace, and the housing should not be opened. The unit is covered by the three-year warranty.
- Use the same colour temperature throughout a room. See our guide to warm versus cool light.
Installation
Anything wired into the ceiling should be fitted by a qualified electrician. Egyptian mains is 220 V, and a badly earthed fixture is a real hazard, not a formality. Table lamps and floor lamps simply plug in.
- The Statement Edit: installation by Fanosia Install is included, in Cairo and Giza.
- Other chandeliers: Fanosia Install is available on many of them as an add-on in Cairo and Giza, for EGP 350–600 depending on the piece. The product page says whether it is offered and the exact price.
Our installers arrive in the agreed slot, protect your floor, assemble and hang the piece, test every light and clean up after themselves.
